Excuse me, I mustache you a question

If you follow my facebook or instagram pages, you’ve already heard this terrible pun from me yesterday, but I want to post it here because I’ve got a little problem over here.

Does anyone know where I can find some 5 3/4” drawer pulls?   I’ve checked At Home, Lowes and Home Depot.  No luck.  I need these pulls quick, fast and in a hurry, so I’d rather buy them in person instead of online.

Here is my sensitive issue.

My dresser drawers are feeling a bit…. um….  nipply these days.

My drawer pulls keep breaking and falling off, leaving behind these two bronze blossoms on my drawer fronts.

On the other side it’s even worse….

This is a pretty serious issue, and not just because all of our underwear is trapped inside and the only way to open the drawers is to grab a-hold of these tiny tips and yank really hard, which is not comfortable for anyone.

Here is my other dilemma.  My friend Amy at A Nest For All Seasons is currently writing an article about my house that will be featured on a very well-known interior design website. They have asked for some better photos of my master bedroom but if I send them current ones my dresser drawers will be totally topless!

How embarrassing is this?  I am feeling really self-conscious to have bird-dogging dresser drawers in my photos.
I don’t want a Dressers Gone Wild moment in my article.

I’m sorry Amy.  This is one of the reasons I’m a week late getting you those pictures.  Maybe I can just tweak the images in photoshop and put a new bra pull back onto my dresser pics?

Any suggestions?

  1. Do you have an Ike’s nearby? I know they have pulls, or try Target maybe? I think ordering online might be your best bet though :-/

  2. OK first, I’m sorry, I can’t help you with your dresser. BUT your post made me laugh out loud … so funny!! Hope your sensitive issue is fixed soon!!

OMIGOSH — you are TOOOOO funny! They are nipply indeed! …and I have no idea where to find replacements — I always use these types of problems as a chance to go to IKEA though! Maybe THEY have something that will work….???

    Anywho…..

  4. Amy Renea says:

oh and now I read the comments and see someone else has the IKEA bug :) …oh and my IKEA is 2 hours away too and I use excuses like drawer pulls to go every once in awhile ;)

PS – Don’t stress about the article — It will be waiting — no pressure!

  5. Too funny! Well, not the missing hardware part, but the remaining hardware parts- oh, you know what I mean! :) Vandykes.com has lots of drawer pulls, don’t know about that specific measurement, though.

Do you have a local Ace Hardware? I find that they are the best place to find items the local big box stores don’t carry. http://www.acehardwareoutlet.com/SearchResults.aspx?SimpleSearchValue=drwer+5+3%2f4

Hahaha… you are so funny! And SO freakin’ cute in your glasses! I almost didn’t think that was you!

We are 4 hours from and Ikea. Stinks. And NO Hobby Lobby either! Boo.

    Good luck!

  8. Cindy Miller says:

Hey, I have bought beautiful pulls at Lowe’s, Anthropologie, and Hobby Lobby!! Can’t wait to see you house spotlighted!

  9. Karen Nolan Bell says:

I had this problem a few years ago. I know it sounds drastic, but I ended up filing all the holes from the old ones, slapping on a bit of paint to hide the repair, and drilling a single hole in the center of each drawer front. I put larger, more interesting knobs on each drawer. It made a world of difference. Oh, and it took less time than all my running around town trying to find replacements for the broken ones (which I never found).

  10. HILARIOUS!!! I can just imaging grabbing on to those suckers is slightly awkward. Too funny!
