Man, oh, man…. have I got some incredibly exciting news to share with y’all today! Do you remember when I posted last week about meeting Ben Ashby, the Editor in Chief of FOLK magazine, at the Country Living Fair? Well there was one small (okay, big) detail that I might have left out of that post.
That day, Ben asked me if I would like to become a contributing author for the relaunch of FOLK magazine’s new mega-blog at www.folklifestyle.com. Of course I said YES, especially after meeting Ben and Heath that day and falling in love with their amazing attitudes and magazine.
Here is a great bio of what FOLK and it’s editors represent:
You may be asking what exactly FOLK is all about. Simply put it is about ALL AMERICAN LIVING. The driving force behind FOLK is to immerse the reader in a life that journeys at a slower pace, one that involves drinking iced tea on the front porch, having conversations with friends, reliving the olden days, hunting for the perfect antique and vintage items, eating at local diners, perfecting family recipes, picking tomatoes off the vine, summers spent in a swing under an old oak tree, buying locally made products, driving with windows down and Miranda Lambert blasting, creating unique collections of your own, find the country life in any setting, and one that remembers the little things that make life worth living.
–from FOLKmagazine.com
You see now why I said YES?? Could that paragraph describe me any better? How can I resist a company that flaunts a lifestyle that I am ALL about? It’s like a match made in media heaven.
Let me introduce you to my fellow FOLK contributors!
I’ll be joining:
Amy from MommaHen’s Frugal Life
Tiffany and Sarah from Offbeat and Inspired
Heather and Vanessa from At the Picket Fence
Karianne from Thistlewood Farms
Kelly from Eclectically Vintage
Donna from Funky Junk Interiors
Vanessa and Jana from The Vintage Whites Market
Along with Ben, Heath and Hillary from FOLK.
I seriously could not be more ecstatic about being a part of this elite group of powerhouse bloggers! This week has been a flurry of activity as we prepared to launch a fully revamped blog for FOLK. The team has knocked it out of the park in preparation for Sunday’s big unveiling on the FOLK blog. I especially need to give props to Tiffany (and her husband!) and Heather for seriously making some magic happen. Those girls pulled off a million dollar website in about 48 hours, and I’m amazed at all they got accomplished in such a short amount of time. Thank you SO much for all of your hard work, ladies (and gentlemen!)
We will all be contributing new and original content to the FOLK blog along with brushing off a few stunners from our archives. FOLK blog is going to become a daily read for all Americans who love a simpler life, so be sure you get there first and pull up a lawn chair or a tailgate, mmkay!? Somebody be sure to build a bonfire and ice down the cooler.
The first contributor post is kicked off by the adorable Karianne of Thistlewood Farm. I met Kari at Haven where we instantly became bloggy BFFs and bonded over late night wine and laughter. She is awesome. Please give her post a comment and tell her I sent you!
I will be heavily involved in the FOLK Pinterest page, as well as contributing to the blog. I plan to write about growing up on the red dirt roads of Alabama, about the people and the places I’ve experienced and loved. In addition to that, I also want to write about other people instead of myself (since I do enough attention whoring here on my own blog!) I’m planning to feature handmade items from local Southern artisans and really interesting places around the South that you might never discover unless you are a local. There will also be plenty of DIY and décor posts, road trip ideas, trendy fashion ideas and mouth-watering recipes.
I cannot wait to read what my fellow contributors have in store for us, and I am sure y’all are gonna love it, too! Here is how you can find us:
