Blankenship Farms Backyard Tour

Yesterday I had the pleasure of visiting my friend Donnalee’s house, aka Blankenship Farms.  I first met Donnalee at a craft fair where I bought one of her burlap wreaths and Alabama shaped Christmas ornaments.  We have become friends, and lemme tell ya—she is my kind of people.  As if the burlap wreath making and pottery-kiln ownership were not enough, her family also keeps bees in their beautiful backyard, which means free honey for me. And, as a major bonus, they also have designed this … [Read more...]

That month we Celebrated our 10th Anniversary Pt. 1

It’s gonna be really hard for me to nail down my favorite events of the past month, but I’ll give it my best shot in 5,000 photos or less.  We have been celebrating our tenth anniversary pretty much all month long, beginning with a trip up to Chicago in early October and ending with a trip up to Franklin, Tennessee this past weekend where we had views like this… … and this… But let me start at the beginning, since I’m a chronological kind of person.  It all began when I was invited … [Read more...]

Autumn in Amish Country

In October 2012 my husband and I decided that before we have to spend the next 13 years of our lives planning our vacations around public school breaks that we were going to take a Last Hoorah Anniversary trip together.   When I was pregnant with Garrett in 2007 I toured New England in the Fall with my mother, and then in 2010 traveled to Vermont and New York with my husband, so for this trip I wanted something different, but still craved that New England in the fall experience.  In true Beth … [Read more...]

Vermont Vacation: Day 1 – Weston

I promised a few posts ago that I would tell y'all some of the stories that didn't get documented during my pregnancy. Other than posting some random photos of my trip in this entry, I never did elaborate further on the beauties and wonders of our Vermont Vacation. So here ya go, the first installment of Things Left Unsaid: Vermont Edition. For many years I have had one thing that kept repeating over and over on my Life's Big To-Do List: Visit New England in the Fall. Finally last year, … [Read more...]
