City Farmhouse Popup Show, 2015

Hey everybody! It’s Caroline here with my very first blog post! I got my first taste of the vendor booth lifestyle at the City Farmhouse Pop Up show in Franklin, TN yesterday.  I was raring to go with tickets provided by Kim from City Farmhouse. Thanks so much, Kim! But, once we got to the Fair all I could think to myself was HOLY GUACAMOLE IT’S COLD OUT HERE! “Mama, I’m freezing!” Yes, it was super cold!  I woke up to a frost warning notification on my mom’s phone, so she bundled … [Read more...]

That month we Celebrated our 10th Anniversary Pt. 2

Even though we had celebrated our anniversary in the woods of Wisconsin earlier in October, that didn’t stop us from planning another getaway to Franklin,Tennessee for anniversary getaway part deux.  This trip was spent at The Granary at Peacock Hill, which was a converted grain mill turned into a cute little cottage on a farm in the middle of nowhere, Tennessee.  Actually when you get to the middle of nowhere, you turn left and go just a little bit further before you get there.  Oh and here's a … [Read more...]

The Inaugural Chapel market goes kaboom in Pike Road, AL

You know when you get wind of a certain event and you just KNOW without a shadow of a doubt that it’s going to be the very best thing since sliced bread?  That’s how I felt as soon as I heard about the Chapel Market that The Lettered Cottage was hosting in Pike Road. Based on the crowds I had seen at a yard sale they hosted with Rhoda a few years back I knew this was going to be HUGE.  And man, was it ever. The doors opened at 9:00 am, and when I arrived at 8:30 there was a  line wrapping … [Read more...]

Bella or Bust, and an Ode to the DIY Bloggers of the World.

I could have SWORN that I put this recap up on my blog last Fall, but apparently I am losing my mind, because after digging through my archives it’s not turning up anywhere.  So, in true belated Boppy fashion, here I am nearly a YEAR later giving you the deets on one of the best events I attended last year.    The debut of Bella Rustica in September of 2012 was quite an event.  It was held in a giant barn at Milky Way Farms in Pulaski, Tennessee, which was just beautiful.  The farm was owned … [Read more...]

Fruits and Festivals: A Peachy Weekend recap

In case you’re not from around these parts, let me tell you about the peaches. Peaches are a big deal in central Alabama. Chilton County peaches are important enough that we replicate entire water towers to look like peaches.  The split part of the peach faces the interstate and moons everyone driving south on I-65 like a giant peach butt in the sky. It’s a landmark that you’ll never forget if you’ve seen it once.  Peaches are at the peak of the season right now, so we bought a basket from … [Read more...]

Dream Beach House Tour: Cabana Blu at Blue Mountain Beach, Florida

Spring Break 2013 has come and gone.  That means this year is already a quarter of the way finished.  Unbelievable.  This year for Spring Break we headed back down to our most favorite piece of heaven on Earth, scenic highway 30-A on the Florida panhandle between Destin and Panama City Beach.  I found this pretty  cottage on VRBO named “Cabana Blu”, and when I called the owner for more info she said it had just been completed last month.  Brand spanking new within a few blocks of the beach?  … [Read more...]
