My goodness, time needs to slow down. I'll have a source list at the end of this post in case you are looking for any of these strawberry themed birthday decorations. I setup a little gift table in front of the fireplace, and decorated it with strawberries and flowers. I scored that sweet little green … [Read more...]

Berry-licious Birthday Planning + 15 Strawberry Desserts RoundUp

Summertime is in full swing, and I have berries running out of my ears. Blackberries. Blueberries. Strawberries. Cherries... (are those considered berries? IDK.) Do y'all do that too?  Buy berries simply because they are so cheap at the grocery store, then let the surplus sit in your fridge until they go bad? It's a serious issue for me sometimes.  Sometimes I need more ideas on how to use up all these strawberries and blueberries and blackberries I have in my refrigerator. But … [Read more...]

Lone Ranger Themed Birthday Party Decor

This weekend we threw a cowboy roundup for our little Lone Ranger’s seventh birthday party.  The decorations are always my favorite part of a party, and this year was no different.  Since our lives are CrazyTown right now I tried not to let myself go overboard, as I am capable of doing with parties. But, in the end I kinda did go a bit overboard anyway.  Oh well.  Throwing fun parties is one of my most favorite things to do, and my boy only turns seven once, right?   In an effort to keep it … [Read more...]

Hostess with the mostess: a Cinco De Mayo Baby Shower

My cousin Jackie is having a little girl this month, and our family showered her and her husband Bruce with love at my house on the Saturday before Easter. For the food, I went with a taco bar because 1. Tacos are easy to cook and 2. Who doesn’t love a taco?  I realized that Cinco de Mayo is right around the corner, so I thought I’d share my ideas for decorating for a fun fiesta!  When I throw a party with a taco bar I focus most of my attention on making homemade sides like guacamole and … [Read more...]

How to Create Halloween Chalkboard art

Halloween is just around the corner!  Who else is ready for some trickertreats?  Halloween is one of my favorite holidays to celebrate, even though I’ve had to scale way back on my creepy decorations since Garrett was born.  He is a delicate little dude when it comes to scary things, so I try to avoid decorating the house with too much ghoulishness since I really love uninterrupted, scream-free sleep.  Four year old nightmares are not cool. But you know what is cool, creepy and four-year-old … [Read more...]
