To Everything there is a Season {Fall Printable}

  To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a … [Read more...]

Donut Teacher Appreciation Printable

It's teacher appreciation week, and what better way to say "Thanks!" than Krispy Kreme donuts? If they've survived a whole school year of loud classrooms and chaotic playgrounds, there are not many teachers on Earth who will turn down some free donuts, I guarantee. I bought a dozen to take to all the teachers at Caroline's preschool, but I gave her actual teacher something extra special just for her. Yesterday I went to the wedding and cake decorating aisle at Walmart and found these … [Read more...]

Put on Your Positive Pants {Spring Printable Blog Hop!}

It's official. Caroline is finally sleeping in a big girl bed. We are two nights into a toddler bed and she hasn't taken any midnight strolls over to Grandma's house yet, so that's good. Hopefully, she will stay put, at least until she's 16 or so.... To celebrate this momentous occasion, I bought her this cute pillow made out of scraps of old quilts, hand-stitched with the words "put on your positive pants".  I knew as soon as I saw sitting on the shelf that it was perfect for her little … [Read more...]

Bountiful Blessings: Free Fall Themed Printable

It sure has been a stressful few weeks for America, huh? First Hurricane Harvey hit Texas and Louisiana then Irma rolled over all of Florida, half of Georgia and some of my home state of Alabama.  As I type this, my kids are out of school because of the threat of bad weather from Irma passing over us. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone who has suffered losses in these two major disasters. We sure could use a little good news today. To counteract all the bad stuff I've been in … [Read more...]

Caroline’s TWO-nicorn themed birthday party!

Our sweet Caroline is turning TWO this week. Can you even believe it?? It's amazing to think that it's been two whole years since she came along and took our lives on a sharp right-hand turn out of nowhere. In the blink of an eye she went from this perfect little china doll look-alike... ... to this beautiful girl dancing on the table at her party! (Oh please don't let this be a foreshadowing of her 21st birthday.) Since they seem to be all the rage right now, I chose a cute … [Read more...]

Perhaps Today {a free printable}

For as long as I can remember, my Grandma had a little plaque in the window above her kitchen sink that said "Perhaps today." My grandparents lived in Kentucky and I grew up in Alabama, so our visits were limited to once, maybe twice a year if we were really ambitious. She was a plump and pretty little lady whose favorite colors were purple and dusty rose, which were woven throughout both her home decor and her wardrobe with great frequency. My grandfather spent his life as a coal … [Read more...]

The Gingerbread Tradition {and a Free Printable}

I will admit that I have never made a gingerbread house from scratch.   Wait... that's not true. I once made a giant haunted gingerbread mansion for Halloween but it was more like chocolate cookie than gingerbread so I'm not sure if that counts. It had Cheez-it roof tiles and candy corn turrets and I actually mixed and baked each piece of the house in my own oven so I'm calling that a yes. That sucker was a beast to assemble. I made a vow after that to never bake one from … [Read more...]

Countdown to {a Simple} Christmas

Garrett found out the truth about Santa Claus this year. He's eight, and apparently the Thing To Do in 3rd grade is spoil the fun for other kids about the man in the big red suit. So, a few months ago he came to me and asked me straight up if Santa was real. And I answered honestly, because I could see in his eyes that he already knew and to lie about it would just delay the inevitable. He took the news in stride, and promised not to tell Caroline the truth once she was old enough to … [Read more...]

Woodland Watercolors + 35 Free Fall Printables

When you think of a fall themed printable, what's better than a woodland creature wearing a Snapchat filter on it's head? I mean, really. I can't think of anything much better.  This handsome buck deer is wearing his flower crown verra regally, don't you think? This little corner of my living room is dressed up for fall, but this is about the extent of my fall decor so far. But, let me be upfront about something.  I totally did NOT paint this little guy myself. I wish I had those kind … [Read more...]
