Hello! My name is Angie and I blog over at The Country Chic Cottage. I blog about my home and the ways I combine rustic farmhouse elements with other home decor items. I thought I would share with you all 5 ways I have used rustic wood in my home.
The first way is to use rustic barn wood in furniture. We have built a mantle and a desk hutch out of barn wood found on our farm. I love both of these pieces and the rustic vibe they bring to our home.
The second way I add that rustic wood touch to my home is to bring barn wood to my walls. My Hunger Games Love Sign and barn wood shelf are both great examples of this.
The third way is by making everyday wood objects appear to be vintage and rustic. You can check out my DIY vintage crate or my DIY Pottery Barn Knock Off Dough Bowl. Both are great examples of techniques to age items.
The fourth way is to use unexpected rustic vintage items in new ways. My vintage ladder quilt hanger and using a rustic window as a frame are great examples of this.
Of course the fifth way is to use found vintage items as decor. Items like fruit baskets, wooden cheese boxes, dough bowls, and wooden spools can all add a rustic touch when used in your decor.
