Remember the exterior door turned coffee table that J built a few years ago? We’ve been using it in our living room ever since we moved into the new house.
(Check out the new paint!?)
I love the table because it’s sturdy and durable, and it can handle all sorts of feet-propping and abuse from my 3 year old. And the best part? The door was completely FREE! My neighbor had this old door lying in a trash pile beside the road. When I spotted it I knew I needed it, so I whipped into his driveway and asked if we could have it. He even delivered it for me because it was so heavy. Talk about a great deal.
The door is still weathered to perfection, and now it has Play-doh wedged into the crevices for added character.
The raised area around the panels have been used for many a train and Hot Wheel drag race. Most recently he’s gotten into these medieval knights and dragons from Papo toys so now we have horse races and jousting on the table.
I keep two metal buckets underneath it where I can dump all of G’s toys so they are hidden when company comes over. Out of sight, out of mind.
This has been one of the best repurposed pieces in my whole house. I absolutely love this table.
It once again proves that one man’s trash really is another (wo)man’s treasure.
