The Big 2017 Christmas Home Tour

Welcome to the 2017 “Better Late Than Never” Christmas home tour! Today I’m joining some home bloggers for a fun blog hop of our holiday homes.  If you’re joining me from A Blue Nest, let me say “Welcome!” Glad to have ya!

I told myself I wasn’t going to get swept up in the holiday home tours of my blog niche this year. I didn’t sign up for any last year and I wasn’t planning on it this year, either.

But last year I had a toddler who couldn’t understand the word “No!” yet and I didn’t feel like sweeping up broken Christmas ornaments after Princess Grabbyhands got a-hold of them.

And honestly?  It felt great to take a break from the hustle and bustle of blogger home tours, because they are SUPER stressful when you’re trying to get it all put together the week after Thanksgiving.

But then it snowed like half a foot at my house last week and I realized this would be the first time I’ve ever had a holiday home tour with ACTUAL SNOW in the pictures and I just couldn’t resist joining in the fun. Usually it’s 75 degrees and I’m sweating like a moose when I’m decorating for Christmas.  But not this year!

This year, Caroline understands “No” even if she doesn’t always listen.  And then my nine year old son told me he felt like it wasn’t Christmas without my over-the-top decorations.

So.

Here we are. Mom guilt won and I’m touring it up with y’all today.

As per usual with my home tours I’m gonna be quiet and just let you check out the pics.

But first let me remind you to print your own delivery driver “Thank You basket” note here.

OK, come on inside!

Oh! Let me chime in real quick to show off this stuff.  Those Edison Records are cylindrical phonograph records from the early 1900s that I found at Tannehill Trade Days.  I fell in love with how they looked so I decided to use them in my decor this year.  I’d never even heard of or seen an Edison record until I found these. I <3 them.

The National box was a gift from my husband.  He gets me 100%.

Aren’t these hand-sketched Christmas village adorable?? Click here to print your own Christmas village made from paper.

I cannot resist showing y’all my new piece of furniture!  This is an old armoire turned into a hall tree bench, and I LURVE it.  Jeremy found it at Easy Street Resale in Pelham. I had been hunting for a piece like this for years and finally found it.  It fits perfectly in the dining room.

There ya go!! I hope you’ll go visit my other blog friends who are joining me for this fun tour this week!  Be sure to go visit my good friend SondraLyn At Home next on the blog hop. 🙂

  1. Hi Beth,
Your home is so warm and inviting. I love the delivery driver idea, just one of so many great touches in your beautiful holiday home.
Wishing you a wonderful Christmas with your lovely family. ♥

  2. Your home is so welcoming and festive. I know what you mean about the kids having certain expectations. Whenever I “try” to simplify my decor, my boys (who are 11 and 13, by the way), insist I put out all the “usual stuff.” I end up having to hide things in the basement so I don’t end up with every single inch of my home cluttered with things that no longer fit in. But I have to remember that they enjoy all the memories of each crazy little piece of decor… Thanks for your lovely tour and I am so excited you got snow!
    Shelley

  3. Your home is beautiful – thank you for sharing! But my favorite part were the goodies you left for the delivery drivers! How thoughtful!

  6. Beth, your decorations are outstanding and I’m so glad that it snowed in Birmingham so you would decorate and we could enjoy your lovely home. Really loving the firewood holder and the signs and the greenery. And the collection of goodies for the delivery people is the sweetest, most thoughtful idea. I feel guilty, but I’m going to try to make one. Thanks for the tour.

  7. Of course, I totally love your home! It is so warm and inviting. Love the mix of colors and neutrals, too. Your knack for mixing is a real art form. I’m so thrilled that you joined our little hop. Your home is so lovely, it should always (when you can) be shared. God bless and Merry Christmas ~~ Susie from The Chelsea Project

  15. Hi Beth,
First thanks for the home tour or maybe thanks to snow? 😉
Your home makes me feel relaxed and calm. It’s so peaceful and done with such beautiful care. I absolutely LOVE that Christmas tree, it looks so gorgeous!
I can see from your beautiful home decorating items that you are also fond of beautiful home decorations items like me. I have this salt lamp in my house which I could not see at your place, these lamps are incredibly beautiful and the orange yellow glow of these lamps make everything looks so gorgeous. I bought them from Saltean and I thought you would love them too.
Anyways, happy holidays and Merry Christmas!

  16. Thanks Beth for this amazing tour of your beautiful home. I just loved everything. All the pictures are so mesmerizing. I can’t wait to decorate my home like this in next Christmas. This Christmas season, I also was looking for some warm and cozy home decor ideas. One of my friends suggested me to incorporate Himalayan salt lamps to decorate my living room, so i bought them. I just love these lamps. Everybody gets attracted by its beautiful glow. They give such warm feeling and change the whole environment by its beautiful shape. I would suggest everyone to place them in your living room and offices. If you want to know more about the different types of these amazing salt lamps then you can visit their website ittefaqco. Their salt lamps are of great quality.
I hope to see some amazing home decor ideas from you using salt lamps very soon.

  17. Such great spring inspiration. I enjoyed reading your blog post. Thanks and keep sharing.
